About Kerry Crowley
What’s the best way to secure a job in one of the country’s largest media markets covering one of the area’s most rigorous beats?
Start early. Try everything. Embrace challenges.
At 24, Kerry Crowley is one of the youngest beat reporters in the Bay Area and one of only a handful of writers under 30 in the region covering a major sports franchise on a daily basis.
After beginning a career in sports media in 2012 as a freshman at Arizona State University, Crowley accepted his first post-grad job at Scout Media in the spring of 2016.
His experience covering Pac-12 football and basketball led me to a position providing multimedia content for KNBR 680, the area leader in sports radio.
In January, 2018, Crowley accepted a job covering the San Francisco Giants for the Bay Area News Group where he blends daily beat reporting with thorough analysis of the franchise.
A background that includes work as a play-by-play commentator, broadcast statistician, on-camera anchor, video reporter and content strategist has uniquely positioned Crowley to write for audiences in the digital age.
For the last seven years, Crowley has combined his passion for storytelling, a desire to innovate in a new media landscape and an ability to connect with others to ascend to a position that allows him to build content that resonates with a knowledgeable, diverse Bay Area audience.
